A sunny afternoon is the perfect time for this little lizard to catch some rays.
After only a few photographs, Mr. Lizard tires with all the attention. He retreats to his rock house.

Bright Green Cocoon: Crab Spider 8 comments
It seems cocoons are in season. 
I notice a bright green cocoon on the back of a dead plumeria leaf. 
In October I took the only picture I have of a crab spider. I wish the details of the spider herself were more visible.

Macon is warm for this time of year. Yesterday I found plenty of great photo ops.
Cold will soon be here. While cutting back the elephant ear plants, I find a couple of tree frogs enjoying the last of the sunny weather.
Tree frogs are common in this area. I still get excited to discover them!
After cutting back the large leaves of the elephant ear plant, I smell an unpleasant odor. Not wanting to step in poo, I scan the ground for the offending odor.
Instead of poo, I find a variety of a stinkhorn mushroom. The mushrooms excrete a stinkhorn slime for the attraction of flies.
A large female praying mantis sits on a twig for a photo session.
After harassing the poor female praying mantis, I finish my pics for the day on a sweet note.

The Triplets: Deer Outback 3 comments
Although a bit fuzzy I managed to get a few photos of the young triplets through a window this morning.
Notice the little one resting in the meadow surely from gazing on to many fresh green acorns. The mama is down field to the right having her breakfast.
I decide to sneak a few shots outside. 
The sounds of my camera plus our barking dogs do not make for a peaceful photo shoot. The young triplets take off in a flash with mom close behind.
Please overlook our pile of projects and enjoy sight of the deer family in action.

I found this guy checking himself out in one of the mirrors affixed to our shop. 
The old bathroom mirrors attached to our shop offer shelter to many tiny reptiles.
I get a little to close for his comfort. He retreats.

It is no secret that I love dogs. Our youngest boy Otis is happy to greet Brandi before the other six dogs get to make her acquaintance.
Brandi is ready to play chase with Otis.

From the tiny wonders of nature to a huge catch in local waters, today provided a bounty of photo ops.
The fella above was caught on the first cast of the afternoon before the rain.
