The 9th annual clothes swap was a terrific success!

The picture above is all the clothes to be washed and sorted before the Methodist Home For Children pick up date.
Next are some photos from the swap. This year we had about forty or so women accompanied by a toddler and baby to coo over!

Heidi found a slammin’ dress!

Thanks to Debbie for all her hard work!

A fun time for a great cause with fantastic people! Thanks to Sarah for volunteering to be the hostess for next year’s clothes swap!
Enjoy your day!

Macon is a star on the musical world map. The varied venues and genres of musical talent is a magnet for both local and touring artists.
Roasted- Cafe and Lounge featured Christopher Bell opening for Trendlenburg Band.
Bell belted out lyrics with soulful ease.

When Christopher Bell comes to town be sure to listen! For more information visit: http://www.silenthomerecords.com
Trendlenburg Band consists of four local musicians with a shared love of entertaining via music.
Justin Cutway is lead vocal and guitars.
Chris Nyland is lead guitar and backup vocals.
Shawn Williamson plays bass.
Also above, please note Justin Smith on drums and backup vocals. I find it hard to get a great photo of drummers in general.

The musical talent kept us all happy on a Macon Friday night!
Thanks to Chris @ Roasted-Cafe and Lounge for great service with a packed out venue.
Enjoy your day!

Since the candy canes melted all over our tree decorations back in 1997, we haven’t bothered with a Christmas tree. On a whim, we decided to put up our own Charlie Brown kind of tree last Thursday.

We cleaned out a corner of the living room and went to find the perfect tree. The perfect tree is the first one I saw. Easy! After finding a tall and wide vase and round stones to stabilize the tree, we begin to rummage around the house for the tree decor. We find cardboard and foil for the star and man in the moon and use three bits of foil to create round ornaments using paper clips to hang them with care. Large gaudy earrings make great light weight sparkle. I find sewing notions in red and gold to drape on the tree. Some saved silver ribbon gift packaging works great for tinsel. The tree skirt is an unfinished quilt piece. We also found three small ribbon and a few bits of fake holly leaves and berries to add to the tree.

Otis is proud of his first Christmas with us!
This is our ‘dog chair’; we don’t care how it looks.
I decided to make some paper candy canes for our little Charlie Brown tree.

To all those that celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope you all are still eating tasty left-overs.
Our small family of five will never forget Thanksgiving 2012!
Before I get to the always delightful Lucca photos let me share a few fall photos from our yard.

Now for precious, Lucca…

Lucca has an extensive marble collection.

Lucca is helping repair a lost track from her toy earth mover.

The next pic is of Uncle Andy cover monster!
Shortly after discovering Uncle Andy, it is time for a nap.

While she slept I could not resist the sweet angel face pics a few silly posed photos!

I hope everyone gets time to take a nap!
Enjoy your day!

Since all of us could not be at the first memorial ride for our friend Jason A. Baines in Lexington, KY Sunday 11/11/12, we did the next best thing we could muster. Sarah and Winnie came to Macon to visit both us and Winnie’s family who happens to live in Macon.
I looked through over 10 years of photos to find the treasures of photographic history of our lives together. Now I must learn how to scan photos, which I am told is pretty simple.
The photos in this blog are from the Macon visit with Winnie and Sarah.

Sarah has badass bike skills and many medals in her pocket.

Now for the pictures that I should have a tripod for instead of all these photos. But it was still fun to try to remember which person needed to take which photo.

The bright spot in the recent gloom was the all too short but invigorating visit with long time friends.
Enjoy your day!

In honor and memory of Jason A. Baines 1971-2012:
Do not be mad…
Please not forever sad…
Know I ride free..
Just on another journey…
Wheels keep on turning…
Written by me with your wise voice with me: Our beloved friend/mentor/big brother and all around bad-ass person. Ride in peace and thank you for you! We love you.

We love carrots!

In addition to the health benefits of carrots, they also dazzle me. The carrots above look to be dancing under water.
Purple carrots are a garden novelty and taste great.
Lucca is a great little helper!

I found another neat carrot combo.

We have a few more carrots in the garden. I hope they bond before I harvest.
Enjoy your day!

Well this is a first for me.
The praying mantis is a fascinating insect. I have seen many over the years but none with a missing appendage.

Thinking he or she may need some help acquiring dinner. I used tweezers to pick up ants to offer for food.

I should feel bad for the ants but they are so invasive and their bites hurt.

The next morning the praying mantis had migrated from atop our grill cover to the screen covering our dining room window.

This morning he is gone. Safe travels my friend.

Our friends daughter Lucca is an absolute delight. She is remarkably bright and simply beautiful.

After a tasty treat it is time for a snack before nap time.

She is too darn cute!

Who can resist singing in the kitchen?

Back to a bit more playing before nappy time.

Lucca is quite the shop keeper.

After we finished our baking project it was time to read a little.

Me and Lucca try to sound like different animals. I just look plain funny!
Sadly the visit draws to and end but not without a few more sweet photos.

Lucca, you are the best hostess ever!
