Fire Speak: Cold at Bay   18 comments

Seems that winter and spring have argued over which is in control. Winter wins the weekend!

The fire dance

Who does not enjoy the warmth and glow that a fireplace provides?

I favor the photos taken without my flash. I rely on the light cast from the fire itself.

Keep the flame burning

Flames erupt into warmth

Streaks oh fire

Stay warm my friends.

Enjoy your day!

  1. Love those logs that give blow holes. Could stare at them all night.

  2. Its been bitter here over the weekend too and we have had our woodburners going. I love looking into them as the logs burn. Great photos by the way.

  3. You’ve convinced me to build a fire in the fireplace tonight. This one will use up the very last of the firewood.

  4. This reminds me of staring into the coals in the fireplace as a child, fashioning pictures from the flames. Beautiful. Well done.

  5. You caught some amazing shots of that fire. So fun to see the faces in them.

  6. FANTASTIC PHOTOGRAPHS.

  7. As I wake up to a cold house, this post truly warmed my spirit. Thanks for the Monday morning heated hello!

  8. Your friends have said it for me. Your fire also reminds me of the rich experience of cooking with a Dutch Oven over wood coals. Too much snow here; I will have to wait for warm days, cool nights. Have you ever created a meal over fire?

    • We love Dutch Oven over fire meals! Our family has won prizes in lots of cook-offs:) I also enjoy the simple hobo packet cooked in and around the coals of an outside fire! It makes me smile thinking of next fire-roasted meal! Thank you for taking time to visit my site. Take care, Anna

  9. Nice imagination….I like this….
