Well now I have!
While working on a clients deck remodel I discovered a neat friend to photograph. There are over 50 varieties of stick bugs.
I need the wheel barrow to transport materials. I grab the closest twig and she or he quickly latched to it only to fall on a piece of decking scrap.
I am happy to have met this neat fellow.
Enjoy your day!

looks like quite a sticky situation
haha! i am just glad the stick bug is peaceful and i had the opportunity to get a few photos:) take care, anna
Was that a “stinky” photo shoot? Nice macros.
Thank you! Haha! I really enjoy the under the radar or overlooked bits of everyday life. Take care, Anna
My grandparents lived in a rural county near Albany when i was growing up. Their house sat on a hill overlooking a few meadows, from their vantage point you could see all the way across the valley to a ski slope and on a clear day you could see the tiny skiers on the hill. There was a creek that ran through the meadows and in the area back behind their house, along this creek was a pear tree, and one day my brother and I, looking through field glasses discovered ripe pears, while my grandpa watched from the house we walked over about a half to 3/4 of a mile to that tree, and though the pears looked ripe they were hard, and not very juicy. But the delight we discovered was the tree was absolutely over run with walking stick bugs. Thank you for bringing this memory to me.
You are welcome! Such a lovely memory, I can picture it in my head minus all the stickbugs; I only saw the one. I am not sure why I am just getting your comment today. Thank you for visiting my slow poke blog! Take care, Anna
They are one of the coolest looking bugs ever…Glad to know that other people like them too….
I agree with you! I feel so lucky to get the pics. Thank you for visting my blog. Hope you cross paths with a stick bug soon! Take care, Anna
Your welcome Anna…And actually I did see one here awhile back and let it be…I play disc golf and in the woods I see many little critters…Bev
Lucky us…
In agreement…
I saw one of those in a forest in Ontario Canada. I only noticed it in the twigs when it moved. It seemed freeky a stick running cross ways across a pile of dried twigs.
I know such a neat insect! I love the details in life such as the stickbug. Thank you for taking time to visit my blog. You have a neat blog too! Take care, Anna
I have heard of stick bugs but never saw one in person. You’ve got some great photos of it. Thanks for sharing. I’ll be following to see what else you come up with.
